True Love

Somehow way back in February (Valentines Day) Micah intuitively knew that I would desperately need a break from the kids on May 23rd and 24th and acted on it. He got us tickets for the Flight of the Concords concert in Las Vegas and made all the necessary arrangements for it. It was a very sweet gesture for a delayed Valentine, and I had been looking forward to it ever since.
Like clockwork May 23rd came around and I was at the end of my rope. How did Micah know? He whisked me away to lovely Las Vegas. Actually, I can think of more appropriate descriptive of Vegas, but I digress. It was my weekend away. I have few complaints. FOTC were amazing! Amazing! Here's the best photo. Sorry, no robot costume pic's. How can they make a career of what they are doing? I felt like I was hanging out with some good friends that happen to speak in music. Argy-boy won me over too (plays Dave and is usually very crude on the show, but kept it clean for that night in Vegas of all places).
So it was a great couple of days. I must mention that we were hit hard by the Vegas crowd this time, worse than we remembered in the past, and while there are some cool things about the city -New York New York's roller coaster ride on the roof, The Venetians real gondolas, great buffet's, warm weather, and oh, the Bellagio- we don't think we'll be returning for a while and we hope our kids never go. While walking around I came up with a short checklist of ways to evaluate whether or not I'm staying away from the Las Vegas lifestyle.
1. Am I wearing high heals with my swimsuit, and if so, do I consider it my outfit and wear it around non-water areas of town?
2. Do I have fake boobs? (that would be easy to tell)
3. Am I ordering alcoholic beverages at 9 in the AM?
4. Am I wearing a little black dress and holding a gold clutch (the Vegas uniform apparently)?
5. Am I yelling, "Woooo!" often and for what others would assume was no reason at all?
6. Am I smelling other peoples armpits in hotel lobby's?
7. Do I make out with people in swimming pools and make people uncomfortable?
And did I mention how Pleasant ville Utah felt after the trip? Kinda put things in perspective. In conclusion, it was SO nice to get away. It was fun to be a kid with no schedule. I love love love hotels. My husband knows me better than I know myself, and can see the future :).

hey sounds like you guys just had a fun trip too! vegas is too funny, but seriously a trip anywhere is great if it's a getaway from the daily grind. funny thing about the dover, delaware property- it's for sale (so sad) and we could have bought it for how much we bought a total fixer upper on a small plot here (: but hey, we're not complaining! (: hope to see you soon- patria

Lucky ducks.
I love hotels too. It feels really extravagant, but I love them anyway. I think Jake knows I have a little of that in me (just don't bring it up!).

I'll say, at least, that you were more likely to get us to come visit you in Utah than if you lived in Las Vegas. Blah.
