Big Wonderful Mystery

I have no idea what makes a kid refuse to eat or do certain things, but want to do other things. I don't think the kid even knows why they chose to do or not do that thing. Maybe it's the way we offer, or the timing, or maybe it's just my reaction to their decision. I try to be grown up and support their decisions and not let my emotions get mixed in, but that can be really hard to do.

For no explicable reason this week Taj and Eden have decided they LOVE to surf with Micah. Eden's gone 3 times this week and Taj once, but is pumped for tomorrow after school. He was arguing with Eden about who gets to go first tomorrow and would only respond to us with the word "Surf" for the last 5 minutes before bed. I guess I shouldn't analyze it too much (as I always do) and just enjoy it while it lasts.

I promised Taj I'd get pictures of him tomorrow. I'm so proud.

Olivia is my little buddy. I love this picture of her taking my hand and showing me something special to her. We've been walking around a lot like this and I can't stop smiling about it. I'm such a lucky Mom.

When you're 4 and 6 playing on the lifeguard tower is more fun than you ever imagined.

We take every chance we can to get the kids excited about surfing. This is a classic picture of that NOT working. Taj screamed like a little girl when he fell off and got wet. Almost ruined a perfect evening, but not quite.

Aunty Lissa always ends up with the kids swarming around her. We love having her so close. Shout out to the Storto's sandwhiches rolled up next to Micah.

No photo shop, I promise. Paradise truly exists.

She's 4!!!

Eden's REAL birthday was last week. She's 4. I have a 6 year old, 4 year old, and 1 year old. Crazy. She got her favorite breakfast in bed: french toast with a syrup pour er.

 She was a little excited about her pile o presents.

 We stayed at Turtle Bay that night. I don't  know why we haven't done this sooner.

 The room service is a favorite.

We will never get a TV in the bedroom. The kids were tired, but come on. Zombies.
We had a great time, right up to checkout. Eden is still coming down from the birthday high. I think this is a new tradition.

Bath Time

This little peach is my shadow. She follows me everywhere, reaches for me, and always wants me to hug and hold her. Who could complain about that though? She is a hugger, a giggler, a singer, a kisser, and all around a sweet little person to be around. She loves animals and will pretend to crawl around and meow or bark. She loves to carry around dolls and stuffed animals. Her favorite is pushing her play stroller and sneaking the big kids toys. She went through a "gock" or sock faze. She says "Bella" who is our neighbor dog. She says "Ball" for balloon or ball and bird. She is a scavenger for food. She loves to do flips on the couch. She is a sweetheart and we are absolutely in love.
